Aston Martin Red Bull Racing | Mobil™ in Egypt
There are two key roles that Mobil 1™ engine oil must play to help keep a Grand Prix engine running. The first is keeping the internal surfaces in the engine clean and free from deposit build-up. The second is preventing wear. If we fulfil both of these roles, the drivers and the team can begin each race with the confidence to win.

Ever wonder what 5 Gs feel like?
The latest Formula One® race season brings new challenges. Wider tires + more aerodynamic downforce = more speed, more Gs and more stress on
the drivers. Mobil 1 lubricant technology helps Aston Martin Red Bull Racing go faster, which means Max must be stronger. -
Bringing race proven technology to the road
ExxonMobil is Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s official technology partner. We supply the Formula One® team with Mobil 1 race lubricants while providing world-class engineering support throughout the race season.
Our dedicated Mobil 1 engineers strive to protect Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s engine by reducing friction and cooling it to withstand the high temperatures reached at maximum performance. What we learn on the track is applied when developing Mobil 1 engine oils that protect the engine in your car. -
A sport defined by extremes
Mobil 1 lubricants are helping to make Aston Martin Red Bull Racing even faster, which further amplifies the extremes of every race. In Formula One®, the drivers, race cars and lubricants are always pushed to their limits.
124 heavyweight punches
Drivers feel G-forces similar to 124 heavyweight punches.
230 mph
Race cars achieve average speeds of 230 miles per hour on some tracks
300º Celsius
Motor oils must withstand temperatures of up to 300 degrees Celsius
Race car: Red Bull RB13
A Grand Prix race car engine can rev up to 15,000 rpm, the gearbox withstanding up to 3,000 gearshifts per race, and engine oil exposed to temperatures of up to 300°C / 572°F. Our job isn’t easy under these circumstances. Mobil 1 lubricants separate and cool more than 300 moving parts, withstand engine forces thousands of times greater than the force of gravity and protect against the stresses generated from a car with a total Power Unit output of 900 brake horsepower (bhp). Mobil 1 and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing work together to make that happen – and our partnership on the track helps us develop road products that keep your engine performing at its best, year after year.
As Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s official lubricant and fuel partner, our advanced products support their high-powered RB13 race car, helping to enhance the hybrid turbo power unit’s performance.
David Tsurusaki,
Motorsports Technology Manager, ExxonMobil
“Every component needs to last as long as possible. Mobil 1 protects the engine by reducing the friction between 300 moving parts, cooling them so the engine can reach the higher temperatures needed at peak power. And if we do our job properly we’re getting the maximum performance of that engine.”

The Driver
Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen joined Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in 2016 after a ballistic ascent through the ranks of motorsport. From his first drive of a kart at the tender age of four and-a-half, Max learnt his trade well and, in his early teens, enjoyed a stellar career in regional and international karting, frequently punching well above his weight against more experienced rivals.
In his first eight races with Aston Martin Red Bull he achieved six top-five finishes, including four podiums.
He is the youngest driver to lead a lap during a Formula 1™ Grand Prix, the youngest driver to set the fastest lap during a Formula 1 Grand Prix and the youngest driver to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Birth: Jan 19, 1997

Race Team
Aston Martin Red Bull Racing is one of the most successful teams in recent Formula 1 history, winning 52 Grand Prix races, four drivers’ and four constructors World Championships during the last 12 years.
The extensive knowledge and expertise needed to succeed in Grand Prix Racing fits perfectly with the Mobil 1 approach – it’s about clear thinking, extensive research and a combined effort of technology and creativity. We are proud of our achievements, but we are always looking for the next improvement. So here’s to success; past, present and future...
Christian Horner OBE
Team Principal
“Mobil 1 has been an iconic brand in Formula 1 for more than 30 years and our new partnership provides us with a unique opportunity to tap into ExxonMobil’s world class expertise.”
Christian's path to the top rung of the Formula One management ladder began as a driver desperate to race at the highest levels. Stints in Formula Renault, British F3 and Formula Two eventually led to him building his own Arden International race team into a junior motorsport powerhouse.
Three consecutive Drivers' and Team Championships brought him to the attention of Aston Martin Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz, and when the company took the radical step of setting up its own Formula One team in 2005, it turned to Horner to run the operation.

Adrian Newey OBE
Chief Technical Officer
Having taken both Williams and McLaren to the heady heights of multiple title wins in the 1990s, when Newey joined Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in 2006, his task was to help replicate that success and he didn’t disappoint.
When a comprehensive aerodynamic rule change in 2009 presented designers with a blank canvas, Adrian and the team seized the opportunity and have since delivered four Drivers’ Championships and four Constructors’ Championships for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing.

Mobil 1 Technician
Providing immediate feedback to the team, using our ExxonMobil Products Technology Laboratory. The technician works with an oil analyser, which can measure numerous different elements to tenths of a part per million. We are able to accurately measure the particles in the engine oil, gear oil and hydraulic oil. In addition we’re able to give highly detailed information back to the team on the health and condition of the engine and gearbox, improving reliability and performance.
Mike Frost
Mobil 1 Racing Technical Advisor
“Our service is really crucial to the team. We are like a microscope that inspects inside the engine to give the team that extra little bit of knowledge to allow them to finish a race.”Mike Frost is a Racing Technical Advisor at ExxonMobil and is a key part of the team that develops and monitors the fuel and lubricants package for the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Formula 1
